Headquartered in London, Bowleven has announced its plans to begin a drilling campaign in Etinde Block located in the Douala Basin, offshore Cameroon.

Being an independent explorer and production company, the Group has 25% interest in the Block while its partners New Age and Lukoil own 37.5% each, reported Oil Review Africa.

The oil exploration is expected to commence end of May 2018. According to Bowleven, the equipment for exploration has been borrowed from Vantage Drilling for 150 days.

Bowleven has its presence felt in central Africa’s oil and gas fields and has shown significant interest in both offshore shallow water and onshore Cameroon. Last year, Bowleven signed a farm-out agreement with Victoria Oil & Gas for a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) for the Bomono Block.
