BNP Paribas launches A2A payments for ecommerce merchants

BNP Paribas will launch the platform along with Token, an open banking payments platform

BNP Paribas along with Token, an open banking payments platform recently announced the launch of an online payment service. According to media reports, this project will be combining SEPA Instant and PSD2 APIs, initiatives from the European Payments Council. Developed with Token, BNP Paribas Instanea is a turnkey instant payment initiation solution. This initiative will deliver Account to Account (A2A) payment capabilities to enhance the speed and enable a secure transaction for merchants all across Europe.

Carlo Bovero, Global Head of Cards and Innovative Payments at BNP Paribas told the media, “SEPA Instant has provided a foundation for additional fast and secure payment solutions for our ecommerce client. The advent of Open Banking APIs presents a unique opportunity to innovate and deliver instant payments at scale. Token’s technology has equipped us with an unrivalled breadth of API connectivity. BNP Paribas Instanea empowers merchants to leverage Open Banking APIs to manage cash-flow in real time and deliver better checkout experiences.”

According to BNP Paribas, Instanea will easily integrate with popular shopping carts and payment gateways to deliver immediate payment settlements and enhance the overall security.

Recently, it was also reported that BNP Paribas REIM has raised around €340 million for its European healthcare real estate fund. The fund is planning to further increase the initial €1 billion gross asset value target due to institutional investor demand.

In this regard, Henri Romnicianu, head of institutional sales at BNP Paribas REIM told the media, “Our 10-year track record in the healthcare sector is highly regarded. HPF is a unique investment solution for institutional investors looking for thematic and anti-cyclical exposure to European Healthcare.”
