Angola Cables recently announced that it has launched Angola Cables Cloud Service for companies operating on the African continent. The announcement came after the inauguration of its Tier III AngoNAP data center facility in Fortaleza, Brazil, a local media report said.
The company launched ‘Cloud as a Service’ platform as a result of the rising demand amid companies operating across Africa. These companies seek swift and innovative digital capabilities without the need for additional operating and software licensing costs.
Angola Cables’ cloud service platform will provide a solution for companies to boost productivity and reduce high costs associated with IT hardware and infrastructure purchase and maintenance.
Chief Executive of Angola Cables António Nunes said that the company’s cloud service is a robust platform offering on-demand hardware and software resources, accelerated processing and cloud allocated storage which can be accessed from anywhere worldwide. “Given Africa’s high number of mobile subscribers, Cloud-based applications offer the opportunity to adopt and embrace evolving digital technologies that can advance economic development and cultural change,” he said.
Nunes also explained that the governments and other financial institutions across the continent are investing in cloud technology to deliver secure and user-friendly services to their customers. Angola Cable’s flexible infrastructure and ultra-low latency routings across its subsea cable network is suited to support companies with cloud migration.
Established in 2009, Angola Cables is a multinational telecommunications operator. Previously, the company had launched the South Atlantic Cable System which is the first marine cable directly connecting Africa and Latin America.
