Saudi housing ministry announces 6,447 free land plots

Saudi Arabia launch six housing schemes, offers 6,447 free plots of land in four districts through its e-portal

Saudi Arabia Ministry of Housing has announced six new housing programs along with 6,447 free plots of land in four districts available on its e-portal.

Through the Saudi housing ministry’s Sakani housing programme, Saudi citizens will now be able to electronically review, choose and book free land directly through its digital platform.

The ministry has also announced plans for a project in Tathleeth, Asir with 1,017 plots of land. Similarly, the authorities also plan to provide 700 plots of land in Riyadh.

In a statement, the Saudi housing ministry stated that it will continue to provide free land deliveries to Saudi citizens through its Sakani housing programme. It will also provide prefabricated housing units in these projects by collaborating with real estate developers.

This follows Saudi Arabia Ministry of Housing’s announcement in August to allocate 28,051 residential units across Saudi Arabia. Out of these, 7,700 residential units would be financed in partnership with banks and institutions and 7807 would be free of charge.

The remaining 12,544 residential units are a part of the ministry’s Wafi programme, which was launched by the Saudi government with the purpose of authorising and regulating off-plan property sales.

Through the Sakani programme, the Saudi Ministry of Housing and the Real Estate Development Fund allocated 280,000 residential products across Saudi Arabia in 2017.

Earlier this month, the Saudi Real Estate Development Fund announced that more than $206 million were deposited during August in the accounts of beneficiaries of the Sakani programme.

According to Khalid Al Amoudi, CEO of Saudi Real Estate Development Fund, the total amounts deposited in the accounts of the beneficiaries since the announcement of the transformation in June 2017 amounted to $367 million.
