The report was confirmed to BBC News by a White House official. The report reads “the first daughter will lead the US delegation in Pyeongchang.” Ivanka Trump will be present for several events that finally lead to the closing of this year’s Winter Olympics.

She could not contain her excitement about the Olympics and tweeted the message last month: “Getting ready for the upcoming Winter Olympics!”

According to a White House official, previously, Ms. Trump had collaborated with the International Olympic Committee, in a joint effort, to bring the 2018 Summer Games to Los Angeles.

Vice President Mike Pence told Alaska “I have not requested a meeting, but we’ll see what happens,” on account of North Korea and its heightened nuclear goals.

“We’re travelling to the Olympics to make sure that North Korea doesn’t use the powerful symbolism and the backdrop of the Winter Olympics to paper over the truth about their regime.

“A regime that oppresses its own people, a regime that threatens nations around the world, a regime that continues its headlong rush to develop nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles,” he added.

Ivanka who arrived in India early this morning, will be addressing the three days Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) from November 28^th-30^th. She will head the summit on behalf of the US delegation for its eighth edition.

Hyderabad went through a lot of preparations owing to the summit and Ivanka’s arrival. To prep up for the summit, Hyderabad left no stone unturned – from making the city spotless, decking it up with festive lights, the city went on to make the city beggar-free. The local government even announced Tuesday as a public holiday.

This year’s summit will focus on ‘Women First, Prosperity for All’, and will stress on supporting women entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth globally.

Talking about strengthening economy and women empowerment, Ivanka said in an interview, “One of the main challenges globally is creating economic opportunities and generating economic prosperity for all our citizens – in the US, India, and throughout the world. Just as President Trump is working hard on these issues for the American people, PM Modi is also focused on expanding economic opportunities for the people of India, particularly its women.

“For the first time, over 50% of this year’s participants will be women! I aim for GES 2017 to be a global celebration that elevates the importance of empowering women entrepreneurs. When women do better, communities and countries thrive.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Ivanka will address the opening session of the sumit.

Among the notable speakers are Google Vice President of Next Billion Users Diana Louise Patricia Layfield, tennis player Sania Mirza and CEO of Afghan Citadel Software Company Roya Mahboob.
