Okadoc has partnered with Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) and other leading healthcare providers such as Medcare, Aster Hospitals and Emirates Healthcare Group, media reports said. 

It is reported that Okadoc’s latest funding marks the largest healthtech Series A in the MENA region. Investors including Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and Ithmar Capital Partners participated in the funding. 

The healthtech startup had launched its  instant booking feature in the UAE a year ago and has onboarded more than 1,000 bookable doctors from 70 specialties across all seven emirates healthcare facilities. 

Okadoc’s cloud-based platform is designed to help doctors, clinics, and hospitals reduce the level of no-shows and administrative costs. In addition, it helps to optimise bookings through the app, boost operational efficiency and lure new patients while retaining existing ones. 

Using the platform, patients can seamlessly find doctors according to personal preferences including insurance network, location, speciality, language and gender. 

Fodhil Benturquia, founder and CEO of Okadoc, told the media, “Our mission at Okadoc is to build and deploy technologies to improve the healthcare experience for everyone involved. We are fixing the broken patient experience that exists today while at the same time improving operational efficiency for payors and providers.”
