To attain the objective, Alibaba Cloud has issued a statement on 15th April, announcing the commencement of its data center operations in Jakarta. 

The Chinese e-commerce giant assured that its offerings can be tailored and will be faster compared to the already-established superiors like Amazon, Microsoft and Google. Alibaba which is yet to reach the complete potential, has accounted a 104% year-on-year growth from its cloud computing revenue for three months ending December.

Raymond Ma, the general manager of Alibaba Cloud for South-East Asian countries at a press conference in Jakarta, said: “We are the first global player that has a local data center in Indonesia.”

“From the latency and service quality perspective, we are probably better than vendors who have data centers outside of this country.”
