Vietnam’s national trade promotion programme for 2018, which has an approved budget of US$4.5mn will be employed in 156 projects.
The programme, which will be managed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, will support the key sectors and markets, and will focus on the expansion of some key brands and products each year. It will also focus on exports and development of markets. To establish local market in rural and inaccessible areas, the programme has planned to sponsor trade promotional activities.
This year some new features have been added to the programme as it has permitted 11 projects in the mid-term that will facilitate businesses to establish their trade endorsement ideas for the 2018-20 period.
Pertaining to the effectiveness of programme, its popularity is gaining momentum every passing year. In 2017, around 7,000 businesses attended the programme.
With the Government publicising Circular 28/2018/NĐ-CP, the initiative will take a major positive turnover as it is laying down some solutions to expand foreign trade. The circular has specified the contents, budget and support principles for the national trade promotion programme. The booming sectors and in-demand goods will receive assistance from this project.
