										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Apple recently announced its decision to purchase a digital magazine subscriptions firm Texture.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Texture provides readership access to more than 200 magazines in app at US$9.99 per month. Top-grade magazines including People, Vanity Fair, Esquire, Good Housekeeping and GQ are available on the app, and can be downloaded to read offline. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Apple’s Senior Vice-President of Internet Software &amp; Services, Eddy Cue, said in a statement, </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">“We are committed to quality journalism from trusted sources and allowing magazines to keep producing beautifully designed and engaging stories for users.” </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">However, it is unclear how the company will integrate Texture’s services with its own offerings. Texture’s app is compatible with Android and iOS. According to </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">CNN Tech, </span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;">in 2010, Next Issue Media launched Texture with an array of publications: </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Condé Nast, Hearst and Meredith to draw success from this business model. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">John Loughlin, CEO of Next Issue Media and Texture, said in response to the launch, the company “could not imagine a better home or future for the service.” </span></p>
