Gulf Air, the national airline of Bahrain, has declared the growth of its long-standing alliance with Thai Airways, demonstrating even more of its dedication to offering travellers seamless travel options throughout their combined networks.

The number of destinations both airlines can offer their customers will rise dramatically as a result of this improved agreement.

As per the agreement, Gulf Air will expand its network via Thai Airways to ten new destinations, increasing the total number of codeshare routes to fourteen, while Thai Airways will expand its network via Gulf Air to six new destinations, increasing the total number of codeshare routes to eight, according to a statement from Gulf Air.

Through the expanded partnership, Gulf Air passengers will have easier access to major cities across Asia and Australia that Thai Airways serves, as well as domestic points within Thailand.

According to the statement, passengers of both airlines will benefit from seamless connectivity and a more convenient travel experience on the codeshare flights.

“Gulf Air customers will be able to book travel to additional cities in Thailand such as Chiang Mai, and Phuket, as well as destinations in countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, and Australia,” a Gulf Air spokesperson said, as reported by Zawya.

This most recent development demonstrates Gulf Air and Thai Airways’ dedication to enhancing customer travel options and strengthening their partnership on an ongoing basis. To put the expanded codeshare agreement into effect and give customers a higher calibre of service, the two airlines will collaborate closely.

“Our expanded partnership with Thai Airways reaffirms our commitment to providing seamless and enriching travel experiences,” the spokesperson said further.

“This strategic move not only enhances operational efficiency across our networks, but also provides our passengers with even greater choice and convenience, connecting them to even more exciting destinations across Asia and Australia via Bangkok,” he concluded.

The airline has also forged a strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia-based travel technology firm Almatar, to integrate the Bahrain-based carrier’s New Distribution Capability (NDC) API into Almatar’s booking platform. This integration will enable travellers to seamlessly access a variety of Gulf Air’s products and services directly through Almatar, offering a more efficient and user-friendly booking experience.

“This collaboration is expected to significantly elevate the overall customer experience by providing travellers with enhanced flexibility, convenience, and a wide range of travel options tailored to their needs. With streamlined access to Gulf Air’s services via Almatar, passengers will enjoy a more intuitive process, from selecting flights to choosing personalised travel enhancements,” reported Travel and Tour World.

By tapping into Almatar’s extensive platform, Gulf Air is not only improving its service delivery but also extending its market reach, allowing it to connect with a broader audience across the Middle East region. This move also underscores Gulf Air’s commitment to embracing innovative technologies to stay competitive in a rapidly evolving travel landscape.

“Furthermore, this collaboration strengthens the position of both Gulf Air and Almatar in the digital travel ecosystem. With more travellers shifting to online platforms for bookings, this partnership enhances their ability to meet evolving customer expectations and maintain a leading edge in the industry. As Gulf Air continues to modernise, this integration with Almatar signifies a proactive approach to future-proofing its operations and maintaining its reputation as a forward-thinking airline,” Travel and Tour World added.

Both Gulf Air and Almatar are now planning to explore joint initiatives that could introduce additional features aimed at improving the travel experience, such as exclusive promotions and personalised travel packages.
