The Nigerian government plans to construct 10 new airports across the country to promote civil aviation. It is reported that Nigeria’s roadmap for the aviation sector is currently implemented despite its framework development in 2015.

Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika said in a statement “So, we have about 10 new airports coming up, that is almost half the number of airports we used to have in Nigeria. We are adding 50 percent of the number of airports.” It is believed that civil aviation will grow tremendously with an increase in the number of airports since the roadmap’s launch.

More recently, the federal government has boosted investor confidence in the aviation sector by providing support and creating a conducive environment for them to thrive on. It is reported that the aviation sector was previously dominated by foreigners but things are changing now. Building additional airports in the country will certainly create more job opportunities and contribute to the economy on a larger scale.

He said “I am here to see the investment they are making in the aviation industry. As one of the primary objectives of government, is providing full support to entrepreneurs in order to provide the needed services and employment for our people, and this is exactly what is happening here at @CavertonGroup…. I am willing to continue to support Caverton and other investors in civil aviation.”

With the development of 10 new airports in Nigeria, the country is anticipated to see a boost in the sector development and its overall economic growth in the coming years.
