Jaguar to launch its first electric car I-Pace SUV

The SUV can sprint up to 60mph in 4.5 seconds and has been geared with a 90-kilowatt battery

Jaguar, the luxury car manufacturer of Jaguar Land Rover is ready to launch its first electric vehicle, the I-Pace SUV.

It is the first all-electric SUV since Tesla revealed its Model X in 2015 and will be showcased at the Geneva motor show later this month.

The UK based company which will put I-Pace SUV up for sale by July, was designed in the UK and will be manufactured in Austria.

The car has been priced differently for the UK and US markets. While customers in the UK have to pay $87,152, the price for the US customers has not been revealed yet. On March 6, the price for the US customers will be announced.

The five-seater SUV can sprint up to 60mph in 4.5 seconds and has been geared with a 90-kilowatt battery. The battery capacity will help the I-Pace SUV to travel 240 miles on a single charge. 80% of its charging can be done in around 40 minutes with publicly accessible DC rapid chargers. While charging at home with a 230-volt system, it will take more 10 hours for the same amount of charge.
