Egypt has launched its first virtual clinic application called DoctorOnline. The launch is a part of the Egyptian government’s digitalisation plan and also Vision 2030.

Now Egyptians will be able to consult with doctors from various backgrounds by logging into the DoctorOnline application.

A wide range of services are available to patients via a video link with doctors in a variety of specialisations from inside and outside Egypt.

Mahmoud Abdel Hakim, founder of the Doctor Online application told the media, “The application will work as the first unique platform in providing treatment sessions between patients and doctors in various fields through the experience of virtual clinics through video chats, which is in line with the implementation of the digital transformation strategy and the country’s vision to digitise the various services for citizens.”

With regard to the launch in Egypt, he said, “We believe that technology is playing a crucial role in digitally developing all sectors, including the healthcare industry. It is our pleasure to launch one of the top medical applications in Egypt, which we believe will create a quantum leap in Egypt’s medical and healthcare solutions, offering potential patients a number of unique services and giving them access to doctors from all around the globe. The application comes in line with the government’s 2030 vision and its efforts towards transforming Egypt’s digital practices.”

Last month, Egyptian on-demand medicine delivery startup Chefaa raised a seven-figure pre-Series A funding round to help it expand its team and launch a B2B service.

The startup said it will use the investment to grow the size of its operations team and launch its B2B service for SMEs. It will also be expanding its services to ensure basic medicines and personal care products are easily available to everyone in the region.
