Maud Minuit, Head of Fixed Income at La Française said: “We are thrilled to have been ranked as the Top Performer in CAMRADATA’s Multi Sector Fixed Income absolute return universe. This award distinguishes La Française Lux-Multistratégies Obligataires for its ability to deliver compelling performance to investors in volatile markets and recognizes the expertise of the fund management team.”
Manulife Asset Management (Europe) Limited who won the Global Equity – Core Large Cap (USD) award.
Martin Powis, Managing Director, Head of Institutional, UK & Ireland at Manulife Asset Management (Europe) Limited said: “Within such a crowded space and among a variety of management styles, it is a fantastic achievement to reach the top over a three-year period.”
Insight Investment who won the Emerging Market Corporate Debt (USD) award.
Colm McDonagh, Head of Emerging Market Debt at Insight Investment said: “Emerging market corporate debt has evolved into a material component of global fixed income more quickly than most still realise. Twenty years ago it occupied an obscure corner of the global credit universe whereas now it is part of the global credit mainstream; its total outstanding debt exceeds that of developed market high yield and is more than double that of hard currency EM sovereign debt.
“We think this trend will continue and that the asset class could double in size over the next five years. The investment opportunity set offers underlying fundamental strength and diversity, meaning institutional investors are certainly taking note and making increased allocations.”
TCW who won the MSFI Absolute Return Bond (USD) award.
Clive Crowe, Senior Sales Director, at TCW said: “TCW are delighted to have won the 2018 CAMRADATA Award for MSFI Absolute Return Bond (USD) for the second year running. This recognition is testament to the team’s focus on long term, risk-adjusted returns.”
Unlike many other industry awards, CAMRADATA does not engage a judging panel to decide who wins. Instead, it applies Independent Quantitative ‘IQ’ scores and rankings to determine the most exceptional funds, using five quantitative risk and performance calculations, based on data from the last three years.
Sean Thompson, Managing Director, CAMRADATA said: “We’re delighted to present the CAMRADATA Awards to these outstanding asset managers across major institutional classes for the fourth year running.
“CAMRADATA has been gathering, analysing and publishing asset manager data since 2003 to enable institutional investors, including pension schemes, insurance firms, charities and consultants make informed investment decisions.”
CAMRADATA’s main publishing brand, Funds Europe, will publish a special CAMRADATA Awards supplement in the next few weeks, with an in-depth look at all the 2018 winners.
