Batelco and Wanclouds join hands to deliver multi-cloud migration solutions

Bahrain Telecommunication Company, also known as Batelco, has joined hands with US-based Wanclouds to deliver multi-cloud migration solutions, media reports said. This will be the first time, such solutions are being launched in Bahrain.

Batelco General Manager Enterprise Division Abderrahmane Mounir told the media, “The Multi-Cloud Migration solution is particularly well suited in meeting the needs of medium and large enterprise customers. The service we offer is a fully managed service that takes the burden of migration away from the customer. Wanclouds automation suite along with their services achieves a simplified, automated way to move infrastructure, servers, storage, and databases which supports us in meeting our customers’ needs. The process is also cost effective to implement and offers flexible options to allow for either specific workloads to be migrated, or the whole organisational infrastructure.”

In October, Batelco has announced that it has successfully activated 5G coverage across Bahrain. The 5G coverage is available in all four governorates covering 95 percent of the nation’s population. According to the telco, it the first operator to have national 5G coverage in Bahrain. Similarly, In June 2019, the telco also said that it was the first operator in Bahrain and among the first in the region to deliver commercial 5G network services for its customers.

During the same period, Batelco launched its new business mobile packages targeted at business customers including entrepreneurs, SMEs and large corporations. These packages will allow customers to benefit from unlimited voice minutes to all national operators at competitive prices.
