Workplaces in the UAE are showing significant interest in the use of artificial intelligence (AI). A new survey has found that employees are keen to work with AI-enabled robots.
Oracle and Future Workplace conducted the second annual AI at Work study which found 72 percent of UAE respondents demonstrate a positive attitude toward AI-enabled robots. In fact, these respondents would like AI robots to take over mundane tasks such as creating expense reports, writing paychecks, calculating employee benefits and managing leave requests.
Emily He, SVP of Human Capital Management Cloud Business Group, Oracle, said, “The latest advancements in machine learning and artificial intelligence are rapidly reaching mainstream, resulting in a massive shift in the way people across the world interact with technology and their teams. The relationship between humans and machines is being redefined at work, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to successfully managing this change.”
Also, she suggested that organisations should collaborate with their HR units to personalise and implement AI at work. According to the survey’s results, 27 percent of respondents believe AI in the workplace can foster healthy work relationships.
Nearly 40 percent of the respondents think that it will allow them to pursue other interests, while 26 percent of them are confident that it will result in faster promotion.
Recently, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched a programme to attract AI talent in the country. The programme seeks to establish a global laboratory exclusively for AI in the UAE, the media report said. AI is being embraced in the country to nurture innovation and talent.
