As part of new contracts for the massive makeover of internal roads and highways throughout the nation, Kuwait’s Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan announced the start of extensive road repair work in Farwaniya Governorate.
Eighteen significant maintenance projects spread across the six governorates are part of this plan.
Dr. Al-Mashaan announced that the ministry has started the drastic road rehabilitation project in Farwaniya, beginning with the Abdullah Al-Mubarak neighbourhood. She clarified that before beginning the required repairs, teams had examined the region.
Cleaning rainwater drainage lines is part of the regular maintenance activities to get ready for the rainy season and avoid water buildup on the roads, which could impede traffic movement.
Dr. Al-Mashaan stressed that the Kuwait government’s dedication to maintaining and improving the nation’s infrastructure is shown in the Farwaniya maintenance project, which complies with the suggestions of His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
She explained that the most afflicted regions of Farwaniya would get maintenance work first, then the less affected areas. To ensure efficient management, we will establish a committee to choose supervisory engineers after testing, and we will closely monitor and oversee the job.
Dr. Al-Mishaan further emphasised the urgency of completing the projects with the necessary quality, efficiency, and adherence to the approved technical specifications and schedules. He also stressed the importance of working together to resolve any remaining issues related to the roadworks.
She urged the locals to exhibit kindness and cooperation, particularly in light of the temporary blocking of certain routes for maintenance. Dr. Al-Mishaan gave her word that the government prioritises road upkeep and repairs.
She concluded by praising His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s vision and directives for their steadfast support of road maintenance projects, which helped to realise advanced infrastructure as part of the “New Kuwait 2035” vision.
