Citigroup has announced the appointment of Capital One executive Naveed Anwar as the new global head of digital for its Treasury and Trade solutions (TTS) starting from November 1, according to media reports. Anwar will be based in San Jose and will be responsible for creating and implementing the unit’s global digital strategy.
Prior to his role in Capital One, Anwar spent more than 20 years at PayPal, eBay, AOL and Netscape leading several products, technology platforms and professional service organisations. His primary focus was on managing relationships with developer and partner ecosystems with responsibility for new customer onboarding and integrations.
At Citigroup, Anwar’s work will be focused primarily on the creation, successful execution and implementation of TTS’ global digital strategy across all channels and products. He will also be responsible for improving overall client engagement and experience along with developing a network and distribution strategy as well as a cross-TTS API strategy.
Anwar will also focus on integrating all TTS digital services into a single ICG point of access with a single client identity. He will also supervise all full suite of TTS products and solutions and the entire digitisation process.
Mayank Mishra, who leads the digital channels, the Digital Onboarding team, led by Ram Jupudi, along with the Digital Security & COO team, led by Rajesh Shenoy, will now report to Anwar, along with Regional Product heads including Driss Temsamani, Arun Sinha, Magdalena Mielcarz and Sanjeev Jain.
Anwar will also work closely with his partners in the TTS Exco including key partners in ICG Digital, BCMA, CCB, Markets/FX and Global Consumer.
