Netflix, TV5 partners to stream the first-ever Philippine series

American entertainment company Netflix has entered into a partnership with Filipino-based media platform TV5 Network to stream its first Philippine-based action TV series: Amo (Boss).

According to online news website Rappler, the show will be the first miniseries from the Philippines to be streamed on Netflix starting April 9.

Robert Roy, vice-president of Content Acquisition at Netflix, said in a statement, “We’re always seeking to work with passionate, talented storytellers like Mr Mendoza, to bring premium content to the more than 117 million Netflix members around the world.”

The show tells the life story of a high-school student Joseph mired in violence and corruption.
