Saudization to create 8500 new jobs in the healthcare sector by 2022

Saudi Arabia’s minister of Human Resources and Social Development engineer Ahmed Al-Rajhi recently announced two brand new decisions in terms of creating 8500 new jobs for Saudi nationals in healthcare sectors like medicine laboratories, radiology, physiotherapy, and therapeutic nutrition departments, according to media reports. He also announced that these decisions will come in effect by April 11, 2022z

This decision comes in continuation of the ministry’s efforts to create an appropriate work environment for both male and female citizens along with expanding their presence in the labor market.

Counting in the Nitaqat Saudization programme , the minimum salary of a specialist is fixed at SAR7000 while it is SAR5000 for a technician.

The second decision taken by the health ministry was advertising professions in the private medical sector. It has also been reported that the rate of Saudization will be 40 percent in the first phase and 80 percent by the end of the second phase.

The decision also targeted Saudization of engineering and technical professions related to medical applications in private sector establishments, with 30 percent Saudization in the first phase and 50 percent in the second phase.

Additionally, the Ministry issued procedural guidelines explaining the details of the decisions and the necessary mechanisms for implementation to make sure that compliance is being followed by the establishment.

The Ministry has also announced that the minimum salary of dentists and pharmacists is SAR7000 to count for the Nitaqat Saudization programme . Minister Al-Rajhi issued a ministerial decision approving the amendment in this regard.

According to an update provided by the ministry, only a Saudi dentist or pharmacist who draws a monthly salary of SAR7000 will be counted in the Nitaqat programme.
