TD Bank launches assistance program to support customers impacted by Hurricane Irma

The bank has set up a 24/7 support for its customers

TD Bank announced the launch of an assistance program to help customers impacted by Hurricane Irma.

“We are committed to helping the people in our communities prepare for and recover from the impact of this devastating storm,” said Michael Rhodes, Head of Consumer Bank, TD Bank. “Our thoughts are with our neighbors, customers and the communities affected by Irma.”

TD Bank’s assistance program includes:

Automatic Fee Waivers and Refunds on Personal and Small Business Deposit Accounts – TD will proactively waive or refund fees for use of non-TD ATMs, overdrafts and monthly service charges. Waivers and refunds will apply to accounts in FloridaSouth Carolina, and North Carolina that incur fees from Sept. 7 through Sept. 22, 2017.

Immediate Access to Certificates of Deposit (CDs) – Customers may withdraw CDs without early withdrawal penalties. This policy will apply from Sept. 7 through Sept. 22, 2017.

Automatic Fee and Finance Charge Waivers for TD-Branded Credit Card Customers – Impacted customers in FEMA disaster areas will be refunded with fees assessed from Sept. 7 through Nov. 7, 2017.

Debit Card and Credit Card Instant Issue – The bank will expedite delivery of debit and credit cards free of charge to impacted customers, wherever they are located (provided delivery is possible). The customer’s signature will be required for delivery. Instant issue debit and credit cards are also available in TD stores during normal business hours.

Automatic Fee Waivers for Mortgage, Home Equity Loans, Small Business Loans and Personal Loans – Impacted customers in FEMA disaster areas will have their late fees waived from Sept. 7 through Nov. 15, 2017. A 60-day payment relief option may be available for installment loans.

Customers who feel they’ve been assessed such fees or have questions about TD’s hurricane assistance program should contact a TD Bank representative through their 24/7 live phone support at 1-888-751-9000 or visit a TD Bank store when it is safe to do so. Commercial Customers should contact their relationship manager for any business needs during and immediately following Hurricane Irma. If your relationship manager is unavailable, please contact TD at 1-888-751-9000.
