IB Group, a Singapore-based company that provides cybersecurity solutions and aims to prevent cyberattacks, online fraud, and IP protection is gearing up to expand its horizons by operating from its research centres in Dubai by 2023, with the help of a local talent group, according to media reports.

The latest facility, known as Threat Intelligence and Research Centre, is all set to help IB Group fight the local cybersecurity threats and export other technologies that will be developed in parts of the UAE that will be spread in the other parts of the world.

Dmitry Volkov, chief technology officer and co-founder of Group-IB, told the media, “The Middle East, especially the UAE, is one of the hot markets, and bad actors are always trying to breach into its secure networks. The presence of big corporates and wealthy economies makes this region an attractive target. He further added that the company preferred Dubai to stay closer to the region so that it enables them to work from ground zero, while partnering with the local talents and other law enforcement agencies. He concluded that the centre would produce technologies and solutions specific to the region’s problems.

As of now, the company refused to disclose how much investment they have made monetarily to set up this centre. The company’s technological leadership is built on its 17 years of experience in cybercrime investigation worldwide. They have also recorded 65,000 hours of incident response accumulated in their personal forensic lab. IB Group is also a partner of Interpol, Europol, and a cybersecurity solutions provider, recommended by SWIFT and OSCE. The company is also a part of the World Economic Forum.
