Emirates National Oil Company and Energy Institute signed an agreement during the International Petroleum (IP) week in a joint effort to organise a second global conference on Health, Safety and Environment (HSE).
According to the Arabian Oil and Gas, the agreement was signed by the CEOs of ENOC Group and Energy Institute last month, witnessed by the UAE Minister of Energy and Industry and President of the OPEC conference Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, and Dr Waddah S Ghanem, executive director, EHSSQ and Corporate Affairs, ENOC, and chairman of the EI Middle East Chapter (EI-ME).
CEO of ENOC Group Saif Humaid Al Falasi, said: “As an integrated oil and gas company, health, safety and environment is one of the key pillars of our organisational culture. We are honoured to host the second HSE Forum with Energy Institute as we believe this event is fundamental in creating a safe and reliable future for the energy industry.”
The conference is focused on addressing the HSE complexities and opportunities presented in the region’s energy sector. In addition, the goal is to exchange ideas and views on the industry’s best practices to promote a sustainable and healthy environment.
Louise Kingham, CEO of Energy Institute, said: “The Middle East is a vital global energy hub and the EI is committed to strengthening its support of knowledge, skills and good practice in the region. I am delighted that the HSE Forum 2018 will have a clear focus on energy efficiency, which is a vital and often neglected aspect of the energy system.
“The forum will provide an opportunity for industry, academia and policy makers to share knowledge on delivering sustainable and safe working practices. With this in mind, it is heartening to see Dubai taking such a clear and decisive approach to incorporating energy efficiency into their strategic vision.”
